Position Reference 072 You will have the opportunity to provide a managerial support to the International Space Station and to work with the Research and utilization group responsible for the definition and implementation of the of ESAs SciSpacE research programme. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Administration of the Joint Mission Management Team JMMT Planning and organization of the meeting Compilation and distribution of the agenda Generation review of Minutes of Meeting and action item list Action item tracking and followup. Coordinating the preparation and submission of papers for EUBHESACPB Coordination of preparation and internal review process Schedule and document readiness tracking Compilation and editing of documents Support to document generation e.g. generation of flow charts, graphics etc. Proofreading Document delivery o Recurrent documents eg Utilisation Oral Report presentation, Current status and future Announcements of Opportunity presentation, Annual Report on ISS resources. o Recurrent inputs to higher level documents eg Research and utilization chapter in the quarterly report to PBHME, Inputs to the DHRE presentation to PBHME, Research and utilization chapter in the quarterly report to Council, Inputs to the DHRE presentation to HESAC. o Nonrecurrent topic specific documents to be defined adhoc. Coordinating the preparation and submission of fiches for the work plan Coordination of preparation and internal review process Schedule and document readiness tracking Support to document generation Proofreading Delivery of the fiches for the work plan per work plan revision. Administration of the weekly and additional adhoc Group Meetings Planning and organization of the meetings Compilation and distribution of the agenda Generation, review and tracking of the action items and record of decision Minutes of Meeting if required. Administration of technical meetings and reviews Planning and organization of the meeting review Compilation and distribution of the agenda Generation review of Minutes of Meeting and action item list Action item tracking and followup. Preparation of events, workshops and multilateral meetings e.g. RPWG, UOP, SOP Venue and logistics arrangement Overall coordination and organization Compilation of agenda in close coordination with the respective panel and or working group chair Generation of Minutes of Meeting and compilation of results Followup actions Logistics and travel support to the international partners as need. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You are fluent in English level C1 both written and spoken. You have a University degree Bachelor from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration. You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience. You are able to work independently. You have an openminded working attitude. You have proven record in producing high quality technical documents. You have experience with document editing software. You have experience working in international technical environment. You have expert knowledge with modern electronics office automation tools in particular Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing. You are able to prioritize activities to achieve the deliverable required. The following skills would be highly desirable You have knowledge of another official ESA language. Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Independent Safety Office and primarily assigned to support the ESA Safety Review Panel chairman in the conduct of ESA safety reviews for the certification of International Space Station ISS systems and payloads The specific tasks are Provide technical support to projects for the interpretation of safety requirements and the preparation of the safety review data package Assess safety analyses and safety compliance data packages prepared by cargo items providers industrial contractors, experimenters, National Agencies, ISS commercial users and provide detailed written feedback Support safety review meetings as Operations Safety panel expert Review the implementation of entries in the ESA Operations Control Agreement Database eOCAD Support ESA in the review of ISS Change Requests relevant to Safety requirements Execute any other safety engineering related task upon request of the ESA Technical Responsible Provide support to the ESRP Chairperson for the aspect associated to resolution of technical issues and conduction of safety reviews Provide safety engineering support to the ISS flight operations team Provide safetyengineering support during mission preparation and execution for anomalies and unplanned maintenance Provide safety assessment of onorbit anomalies The requested start of work is January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate will have Education A Masters level degree in an engineering discipline or the technical sciences. Required A minimum of 4 years industrial experience including relevant experience in the design and engineering of safety critical systems, ideally acquired in the space sector Handson knowledge of the safety analyses and methodologies Experience in human spaceflight safety with emphasis on the application of ISS safety requirements and processes Knowledge of ISS systems, subsystems and payloads, of ISS safety requirements and their related implementation Extended understanding of the hazard which are intrinsic of a system and or induced by space operations, and the way they are eliminated or controlled Knowledge of the way safety data are generated, validated and retained in support of the ISS programme safety certification Knowledge of Configuration Management Extensive knowledge of system safety engineering principles, methods and processes Knowledge of ISS operations environment.
