Winter is a month away by the calendar, but a good chunk of the country has received an early taste courtesy of a polar vortex that sent temperatures plunging and the snow flying. This week’s online poll question at beefmagazine.com is: “What kind of winter do you foresee?” It will be worse than last winter. It will be milder than last year. About the same as last year.

If you live in the U.S., you have been feeling insanely cold lately. The area south of Buffalo got 5 feet of snow yesterday -- an extreme winter weather outburst that is being blamed for a tragic five deaths -- and the Weather Channel says that parts of the Midwest and Great Lakes region may experience " one of the longest sub-freezing spells on record for the month of November."
