(Telecompaper) The European telecoms marktet was particularly eventful in week 19, but a downturn couldn't be prevented against the backdrop of an overall market downturn. The Telecompaper Stock Index (TPSI) European Telecoms Services was down 1.2 percent, against a 4.0 percent loss for the EuroStoxx 50 index. Iliad was the winner, on the sale of much of its tower portfolio, followed closely by its counterpart Cellnex, with a string of deals in its pocket. Tele Columbus was the week's biggest loser, without significant news, losing 11 percent, followed by BT.

(Telecompaper) Zayo has confirmed a deal to be acquired by the infrastructure investors Digital Colony and EQT Infrastructure for USD 14.3 billion. The new owners said they plan to continue Zayo's strategy and keep the private company based in Colorado.

(Telecompaper) The Telecompaper Stock Index European Telecoms narrowed its year-to-date underperformance relative to the EuroStoxx 50 index in week 10. The satellite segment suffered a blow, but more importantly the heavyweights, Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone, ended the week up. Micro cap Go Internet (Italy) was the week's winner, gaining 37 percent. All in all, the TPSI European Telecoms was up 1.4 percent, versus a loss of 0.9 percent for the EuroStoxx 50.
