Synagro Technologies, the nation's largest recycler of organic residuals, recently announced details of a five-year biosolids recycling program in the city of Toledo, Ohio, that will improve water quality in the Lake Erie watershed by reducing the use of commercial chemical fertilizer. Toledo's biosolids will be used as a natural fertilizer on farmland, eliminating the need for more than 400 tons of chemical fertilizer, which has greater potential of runoff to rivers, lakes and streams.

The Olds College Centre for Innovation (OCCI) in Alberta, Canada, study that was concluded this fall, confirms that the LWR liquid fertilizer contains adequate amounts of nitrogen and trace minerals suitable for growing plants. The results also confirm that the liquid fertilizer produced through the LWR manure treatment system is free of phosphorus, with lab analysis showing phosphorus levels at 0.0000%. read more
