Sidney DeBoer, executive chairman of auto dealer Lithia Motors in Medford, Oregon, is retiring at the end of the year. But DeBoer will still get paid $1.05 million a year for the rest of his life, paid in $252,600 quarterly cash installments.

John C. Orr, president and CEO of Myers Industries Inc., plans to retire as a company officer effective Dec. 31. The board of directors of Akron-based Myers has engaged DHR International Inc. to conduct a search for Mr. Orr's successor. The company said the announcement "guarantees adequate time to find the optimal candidate who has the skills to continue the success" of the firm, noting that Mr. Orr will work with the board "to select the best qualified successor and to ensure an orderly transition of the management of the company."

During this celebratory luncheon, representatives of Polymers Center of Excellence (PCE) announced renaming of its conference center in honor of Mr. Hayford. Russell C. Broome, managing director of SPE, announced committee of past presidents of SPE has awarded Mr. Hayford the title of Distinguished Member.
