It's been 15 years since Vallejo businessman Dennis Brinson began trying to bring a grocery store to downtown Vallejo and he's finally succeeded. A second Grocery Outlet will be coming to town - this one at the former Safeway at 411 Marin Street in the next few months.

Now that the face-lift on the old Oakley Plaza shopping center is completed, locals are hoping that the little bit of revitalization to the small city will help to draw new business to other planned shopping areas. SANTA CRUZ >> The transformation of what used to be the Eastside post office into Grocery Outlet is well underway with San Jose contractor Tilton Pacific Construction undertaking a $1.4 million remodeling job. “It will be a completely different place,” Steve Campbell promised of the soon-to-be Grocery Outlet at 120 Morrissey Blvd. The U.S. Postal Service moved its retail branch to 1148 Soquel Ave. , formerly Jerry's Sports, in January after its lease expired.

Police here are searching for four men who allegedly robbed a Grocery Outlet at gunpoint Friday, making off with an estimated $300. Wearing bandanas over their faces, hooded sweatshirts and gloves, the men entered the grocery store around 6:30 p.m. Friday, pointed a gun at a cashier and demanded money, according to Richmond Police Lt.
