$30M loan paves way for luxury apartments at historic manufacturing building

Real estate developer Uri Kaufman secured a $30 million loan enabling him to convert the former Albany International headquarters into 145 luxury apartments. "It's a magnificent building," Kaufman said of the sprawling, red-brick 400,000-square-foot former corporate headquarters and manufacturing plant on Broadway in Menands, about 1.5 miles north of downtown Albany.
