Hundreds of Sussex County families will be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving turkey with all of the trimmings this year, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals who donated mountains of food for Project Self-Sufficiency participants this November. Agency staff and volunteers gathered hundreds of frozen turkeys, along with fresh produce, cans of cranberry sauce, vegetables, stuffing mix, dinner rolls, and freshly-baked pies.

A previously convicted felon and known gang member of the Pleasant Park area of Chesapeake, has admitted guilt to an April homicide. On Thursday, 22-year-old Devontae McKiver pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Nancy Welch with the Chesapeake Commonwealth's Attorney.

OAO Rosneft head Igor Sechin met with the chairman of Vietnam Oil & Gas Group to discuss cooperation in refining as the Russian oil producer looks at adding fields off the Asian country's southern coast. Sechin and Nguyen Xuan Son, the chairman at Vietnam Oil & Gas, met in Moscow and talked about possible joint exploration, output and refining projects, Rosneft said today in a statement on its website.
