Orange again best performer on Belgian mobile market in Q4 2018

(Telecompaper) The migration from prepaid to postpaid continues in Belgium, with a further 8.8 percent drop in prepaid Sims in 2018. Proximus noted the largest decrease, losing 129,000 prepaid Sims last year. At the end of 2018, prepaid accounted for 16 percent of the 11.42 million Sims in total on the Belgian market, down from a 23.4 percent share in 2016.

Smartwatch shipments jump 56% to record 18 mln units in Q4

(Telecompaper) Global smartwatch shipments reached a record 18 million units in the fourth quarter, a jump of 56 percent from the year before, according to the latest study from Strategy Analytics. Apple kept its top place with a share of over half of the market, while Samsung moved to second place, overtaking Fitbit and Garmin. For the year, shipments also hit all time high levels of 45 million units.

Deutsche Telekom raises dividend 8% as US fuels growth in Q4, 2018

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom announced an 8 percent increase in its annual dividend, after meeting its improved outlook for full-year results in 2018. The company said it expects further improvement in adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow in 2019.
