Intel forecasts modest revenue growth in 2016, lower margin

(Telecompaper) Intel reported fourth-quarter revenues up 1 percent year-on-year to USD 14.9 billion, better than the company's outlook. Operating profit fell 3 percent to USD 4.3 billion, and net profit dropped 1 percent to USD 3.6 billion or 74 cents a share. Intel CEO said Brian Krzanich the results were in line with expectations and represented a strong finish to the year. Over the full year, Intel saw a 1 percent fall in sales to USD 55.4 billion, and net profit declined 2 percent to USD 11.4 billion. For the full year 2016, Intel forecast revenue growth in the mid to high single digits. The gross margin is expected to fall to around 61 percent from 62.6 in 2015, due to the acquisition of Altera and factory start-up costs. R&D and capital spending will increase compared to 2015.

Molson Coors beats forecasts despite lower third-quarter adjusted profits

Molson Coors Brewing Company beat expectations even though its adjusted profit decreased 4.3 per cent to US$259.9 million in the third quarter due to currency swings and the ending of an agreement to distribute Miller brands in Canada. The Denver and Montreal-based company reported Thursday that it earned US$1.40 per diluted share, compared to US$1.46 per share or US$271.5 million a year earlier.

Bunge Ltd, one of the world's largest agricultural commodities traders, reported a lower quarterly profit on weak year-on-year returns in its agribusiness segment and poor food and ingredients margins. The White Plains, New York-based company said weak Canadian canola processing margins and lower European softseed margins were largely to blame for the 57-percent earnings drop in agribusiness, its largest segment in terms of revenue.

Bunge Ltd, one of the world's largest agricultural commodities traders, reported a lower quarterly profit on weak year-on-year returns in its agribusiness segment and poor food and ingredients margins. The White Plains, New York-based company reported a net second-quarter profit of $72 million, or 50 cents share, compared with $272 million, or $1.81 a share, a year earlier.

Oi forecasts lower EBITDA in 2015

(Telecompaper) Brazilian operator Oi said that it expects lower EBITDA in 2015 compared to 2014. Oi expects to achieve adjusted EBITDA of BRL 7.0-7.4 billion, excluding any one-off gains or losses. In a statement to the stock market, Oi said that the forecast does not apply to expected EBITDA for 2015 on a consolidated basis, as the operator is in the process of selling various businesses, including PT Portugal.
