French economy minister Emmanuel Macron reiterated Tuesday that the French government intends to lower its stake in Renault SA to 15% and insisted the government opposes significant changes in the alliance between the French car maker and Nissan Motor Co. Harvey Newkirk, a former lawyer with the law firm Bryan Cave LLP, helped convicted con man Calvin Darden Jr. pretend to be his father, a retired senior executive with United Parcel Service Inc, in order to sell lenders on the $31 million deal, a prosecutor told jurors in federal court in Manhattan.

Hong Kong's stock market sank on Tuesday morning following a weak performance by Wall Street overnight, while mainland Chinese markets reversed early losses to close the morning session with gains as it was supported by strong market sentiment.
