Telia, Turkcell sell stake in Azercell to Azintelecom for EUR 222 mln

(Telecompaper) Fintur Holdings, jointly owned by Telia Company and Turkcell, has agreed to sell its 51.3 percent holding in Azertel, sole shareholder of Azerbaijan's biggest mobile operator Azercell, to the Azerbaijan state-owned operator Azintelecom. The agreed price is EUR 222 million.

Azercell Telecom LLC announced, that its recent CEO Chiril Gaburici is leaving a company at the end of this year as his contract has come to an end. Chiril Gaburici decided to pursue other career opportunities outside of Teliasonera Group, the company said Dec. 25. He has been with the Group for almost 14 years, and prior to joining Azercell in September 2012, Chiril Gaburici worked as a CEO at Moldcell.
