Eutelsat looking to sell stake in Spain's Hispasat

(Telecompaper) Eutelsat announced that it has initiated the process of divesting its 33.69 percent stake in Spanish satellite operator Hispasat by exercising the put option granted in 2008 by Hispasat's majority shareholder, the Abertis Group. Under the terms of the put option agreement, the value of the Hispasat stake will be determined by an independent expert, said Eutelsat in a statement. However, Abertis subsequently replied that the process initiated by Eutelsat is not valid and that the company doesn't recognise the put option under which Abertis would have to buy the stake.

Spain's Cellnex buys 230 towers from Bouyges for EUR 80 mln

(Telecompaper) Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom has announced an agreement to acquire 230 mobile telecommunications towers in France from Bouygues Telecom for EUR 80 million. The deal includes a second phase that, if executed, could bring the total number of towers acquired to 500, said Cellnex, adding that it has also signed a 20-year contract to provide services to Bouygues. The Spanish operator said the towers are expected to contribute revenues of around EUR 6.9 million on a full-year basis.
