Telecom Ground Segment Technical Lead Engineer mf

A vacancy for a Telecom Ground Segment Technical Lead Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. You will be a member of the Ground Segment GS team of the Telecom satellite directorate in Toulouse. This team is in charge of Defining and developing GS products in line with the telecom satellite platform and payload roadmaps and telecom system needs Participating in the GS Telecom Satellite Calls for Tenders ITT, proposals and costing including workshare agreements with subcontractors andor coprimes Delivering GS to external customers from specification definition up to maintenance phases Managing RF ground stations providers for the Low Earth Orbit Phase LEOP, InOrbit Tests IOT and InOrbit Support IOS Participating in operations during LEOP and IOT. Within this group, you will be in charge of defining GS products in line with satellite TTC and payload roadmaps e.g. complex payload system operations and complying with ITT requirements for Telecom systems proposals e.g. Very High Throughput systems. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Defining ground components for payload management and mission optimisation Interacting with the satellite and telecom system team to capture and anticipate the ground product trends and needs in order to accompany present and future payload developments Following up product development whether it is internal and external procurement and integration into the ground segment Cooperating with ITT on the ground segment. This role will involve some travel for business 4 times a year in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and expertise Engineering degree or equivalent, 5 years of experience in satellite telecom system engineering including communication payload engineering, telecom link budget analysis, communication traffic management at the NOCMission Control Centre, satellite payload management, ground terminal design and operation VSAT andor large teleports, including antenna, RF chain, baseband and IP layer. Good knowledge of RF, spectrum resource allocations, traffic analysis, digital communications, payload engineering and air interface communications standards such as DVBS2 and DVBRCS, as well as digital modulation schemes andor techniques, Ideally Practical experience in commissioning and testing satellite systems satellite and ground based, Experience working in a satellite communication operations environment NOCGateways, Software engineering knowledge e.g. JAVA, Confidence while working directly with potential customers and subcontractors at a technical level, Ability to work autonomously and effectively, cocoordinating tasks and responsibilities, Negotiation level of English and intermediate level of French. The successful applicant will join the Image Chain department which covers design and development activities for the entire image processing chain of future observation systems. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience With an Engineering degree or equivalent, you can demonstrate at least 5 years of experience ideally in industrial data processing systems engineering, You have experience in the design and development of IT systems from specifications to customer acceptance, Technical skills in system architecture, software architecture, system design methodologies, interface engineering and LINUX and WINDOWS systems are required for this position, Knowledge of Big data and Web technologies You have experience in the production of satellite ground segments, Experience with Image Chains for Earth observation satellite image processing would be a plus, Negotiation level in English. Proficiency in French would be an asset. You have good analysing skills and are able to manage complex situations.
