J.B. Hunt to expand operations, add 1,000-plus jobs in Arkansas

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell will expand its operations, adding more than 1,000 jobs in the state over six years, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a statement Wednesday. The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported in May on J.B. Hunt's plans to build a seven-story building at the company's business park in Lowell, with completion set for 2017.

Claiming Fictitious Charges, Arkansas Residents Sue Energy Firms

Residents of Faulkner, Conway and Van Buren counties have filed a class action lawsuit against five energy companies claiming they made fictitious deductions and charges against royalty owners. The Log Cabin Democrat reports that the 88 residents represented in the lawsuit are royalty owners of oil, gas and mineral interests in lands and wells located within the three counties.
