Despite limited Internet speeds, heavy-bandwidth websites like YouTube and similar video-sharing services will be accessible through free public Wi-Fi hotspots set up in six pilot areas, the Department of Science and Technology said yesterday. This would test the performance of the Internet connectivity provided by the P1.408-billion Free Wi-Fi in Public Places project, said DOST Undersecretary Louis Napoleon Casambre, who is also the executive director of the department's Information and Communications Technology Office .
