Self-taught artist and illustrator Marika Paz developed a love for folktales and art growing up on the northern California coast in a redwood forest. Exploring the relationships of animals with humans and nature in her art, Paz's work features playful forest animals, nature, and folk stories — with a hint of mysticism. Dreamy and imaginative, she creates a world of magic, wonder, and possibilities using ink, watercolor, and gouache to form an illustrated collection of connectivity.
