On June 17, County Administrator June Fisher received a letter of interest from Waste Management, a Houston company that serves more than 21 million U.S. and Canadian customers. “It is our understanding that Highlands County is seeking solutions to its solid waste management operations, and Waste Management would welcome the opportunity to participate in the process,” Jeff Sabin, community affairs director, wrote to Fisher.
