Offered in 6- and 14-slot sizes, 40G AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplanes are designed to PICMG 3.0 Rev 3.0 specifications. Dual pluggable shelf manager/switch connections are available in 6-slot version. By combining shelf managers and switches, users gain 6 payload slots. Pluggable PEM (power entry module) options are available for 14-slot backplane. Slot 0 of which allows dual shelf managers to be plugged into chassis without taking up any of 14 slots.
