614 to be laid off temporarily at U.S. Steel plant in Ohio

"This action is a result of a decline in tubular market conditions, which is impacting demand for the plant's products," according to a WARN Notice filed Jan. 5 by U.S. Steel. The layoffs were to begin this week and continue through May. About 614 employees at facility will be temporarily laid off, according to a report in The Morning Journal newspaper.
