A 70-ton, 184-foot span was installed Tuesday as part of a construction project to build a pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in Southeast Portland. When finished, the bridge will provide passage between two streets that end on opposite sides of the tracks: Southeast Rhine Street on the west and Lafayette on the east.
