Responding to President Obama's fiscal year 2015 budget request, AIA's Marion C. Blakey brought up FAA programs facing challenges. She noted Next Generation Air Transportation System modernization program, saying funding cuts pose new obstacles to meeting milestones. "The economic benefits of the NextGen program far outweigh the nominal budget gains that would be realized if the proposed cuts are enacted," said Blakey who also cited risks to safety, environment, and U.S. competitiveness.
