On September 17, AIA presented Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Jerry Moran (R-KS) with Wings of Liberty Award for their leadership of Senate Aerospace Caucus as well as their individual contributions to USA's aerospace and defense industry health. When AIA President and CEO David F. Melcher presented these awards with honor, he specifically noted both senators' accomplishments "in this era of excessive partisanship."
