ALM to Acquire Summit Professional Networks

Legal publisher ALM, owner of The American Lawyer and other titles, said Monday that it has agreed to acquire Summit Professional Networks, proprietor of several publications focusing on the insurance industry, as it seeks to expand its portfolio beyond legal media. The deal, which a person familiar with the situation said was valued at $40 million, marks the second acquisition in the past month for ALM.
