President Obama announced the next expansion of the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation with The Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute, to be located in Chicago. DMDI will change the way America does manufacturing by focusing on democratization and data integration across the supply chain. Announcement coincided with news of another manufacturing hub, the Lightweight and Modern Metals Manufacturing Innovation Institute, to be located in Canton, MI.
