ARM increases dividend 25% after strong Q2

2015-07-22 09:20:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) ARM Holdings reported second-quarter revenues up 15 percent year-on-year to USD 357.1 million and improved its adjusted operating margin to 52.9 percent from 48.9 a year ago. The company's pretax profit jumped 39 percent to GBP 94.7 million or 5.42 pence per share, and ARM increased its interim dividend by 25 percent to 3.15 pence per share. Over 3.4 billion ARM-based chips shipped in the second quarter, up 26 percent year-on-year. This helped drive a 31 percent increase in ARM's processor royalty revenue. The company also added new licences in the quarter, with a record 54 processor licences signed for a broad range of applications, from biometric sensors for mobile payments to automotive engine control. ARM said market conditions point to a small sequential increase in industry revenues in the next quarter, while its own revenues may grow faster due to increasing royalty per chip in mobile devices and the expanding market beyond mobile. Assuming macroeconomic uncertainty does not further impact consumer spending, ARM expects its revenues in dollars for full year 2015 to be in line with current market expectations.
