ASTM International announced that it has been accredited by Standards Council of Canada (SCC), signifying that ASTM meets all requirements for consensus standards development, set by SCC, which mirror principles of World Trade Organization: transparency, openness, consensus, and relevance. SCC audit was conducted November 6–8, 2012. In tandem with SCC's accreditation, ASTM established new ASTM International Canada Office in Ottawa that is to be led by Diane Thompson.
