Moffett-Nathanson 's Craig Moffett today writes that cable operators Comcast , Charter , Time-Warner Cable , and Cablevision are facing an unpleasant scenario reminiscent of the mid-naughts: the threat of fiber from the phone companies. In the middle of the last decade, notes Moffett, the cable stocks were hit by the buildout of fiber by Verizon Communications and AT&T .
