(Telecompaper) AT&T said it sold over 10 million smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2012, beating its year-earlier record of 9.4 million units. The operator sold 110,000 smartphones a day in the latest quarter, driven by demand for iOS, Android and Windows phones, according to AT&T Mobility president Ralph de la Vega, who added that smartphone subscribers generate twice as much ARPU as other customers. The company is due to release fourth quarter results on 24 January.
