(Telecompaper) Acer has announced a new 6-inch smartphone with 4K video recording. The Liquid S2 will be presented at the Ifa show in Berlin and hit the market in late October. In addition to recording in the ultraHD standard, the phone comes with a 13 megapixel camera, a range of advanced video playback features, support for panorama photos of up to 27 megapixels and a LED flash. It also supports the new 802.11 ac Wi-Fi standard and LTE. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 2.2GHz processor and Android 4.2.2 with 16 GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. Acer provides its own Float User Interface, which allows several app windows to 'float' on the screen, in order to support multi-tasking and also providers 'float' alerts on incoming calls and SMS. The full HD IPS screen comes with Gorilla Glass 3, and the curved body of the phone will be available in red or black. Pricing details will be announced closer to launch.
