Activist investor sells Ashland stake

An activist investor has sold its entire stake as the largest shareholder of Covington-based specialty chemical company Ashland Inc. Jana Partners , a New York-based activist investment firm, closed its position in Ashland as of the end of the day on Monday, it said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. It owned nearly 5.9 million shares as of the end of the first quarter.
