A new Freddie Mac loan program for affordable multifamily redevelopment this month received its first test trial with a seniors housing property. The Direct Purchase of Tax-Exempt Loans initiative is designed as a speedier way to finance affordable family properties, including those for elderly residents. Bethesda, Md.based Walker & Dunlop is the first to close a loan through the initiative. read more
