Agencies confirm chemical release at International Paper

Reports show on March 27, International Paper released roughly 106 pounds of methyl mercaptan. Multiple national, state and local agencies were contacted after a chemical known to be toxic in high doses exceeded legal limits from International Paper's Georgetown mill in late March, an investigation by The Georgetown Times has learned.
