Agrium reports 26% decline in Q3 net profit; raises quarterly dividend 4%

Agrium Inc. is increasing its quarterly dividend four per cent despite reporting a 26 per cent decline in net earnings to US$50 million or 35 cents per diluted share. The Calgary-based global producer and marketer of fertilizer says the payout will rise to 78 cents US per common share beginning Jan. 21 to shareholders of record on Dec. 31.
