United Parcel Service has prepared painstakingly for the 2014 peak shopping season. Mindful of the crush of last-minute orders in the 2013 Christmas period, the integrated express carrier has invested US$500 million in capital expenditures and another US$175 million in operating expenses to get ready for this year's peak surge.
