Akamai CDN carried record 72 Tbps on 11 Dec

(Telecompaper) Akamai said its content delivery network (CDN) carried a record load on 11 December of over 72 Tbps, passing the 70 Tbps mark for the first time in the company's 20-year history. The volume was driven mainly by live sports events, gaming releases and major software updates along with higher traffic levels from e-commerce sites.
