Alabama may spend $100 million on digital books

The Alabama Senate has approved a bill that would allow the state to spend as much as $100 million to wean its school districts off paper textbooks. The bill, which passed Thursday with a 19-to-11 vote, would allow the state to seek a $100 million bond to finance the conversion to digital textbooks, according to the Associated Press.
