(Telecompaper) Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba has named executive vice president Jonathan Lu Zhaoxi to become CEO on 10 May, the 10th anniversary of Alibaba's Taobao online shopping platform. Lu will succeed Jack Ma, who announced in January that he would be stepping down from the CEO position. Ma will remain as Alibaba's executive chairman, continuing to steer the group's strategy and management development while being less involved in day-to-day operations. Lu is also currently the group's chief data officer and president of Aliyun Mobile OS. As group CEO, he will oversee all of of the group's businesses with the exception of the recently formed Alibaba Small and Micro Financial Services Group, whose new CEO is Lucy Peng, Alibaba's chief human resources officer and the former head of Alipay.
