Amazon beefing up Lab 126, plans to spend $55M in Silicon Valley

Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos is promising to beef up its Lab 126 hardware R&D unit in Silicon Valley in return for tax breaks from the state. Amazon plans to spend $55 million and grow its work force in its Sunnyvale and Cupertino hardware labs by about 700 employees in the next five years.
