Amazon extends payments platform to other websites

2013-10-09 08:56:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Amazon is offering its payments platform to other businesses. The Login and Pay with Amazon system allows customers to pay for services and products on other websites using their Amazon account information. Businesses pay a fee for the payment services and fraud protection from Amazon. Login and Pay with Amazon works on any website, accessed from tablet, mobile and desktop devices. Amazon does not share the customers' credit card information, and purchases are covered by Amazon's A-to-z Guarantee, offering buyers the transaction protection they receive when purchasing products on Amazon.com. Amazon has more than 215 million active customer accounts that will be able to make use of the service. One of the first customers already using the service is the Gogo Wi-Fi. Developers can implement Login and Pay with Amazon with existing websites using a set of widgets and APIs to embed on the site and integrate with back-end systems. Login and Pay with Amazon uses the OAuth 2.0 protocol.
