American covets Delta's Seattle-Tokyo route

The Wall Street Journal reports American is petitioning the DOT for the route, claiming that Delta is using the route to Tokyo's close-in Haneda Airport 17 times between now and the end of March, instead of the 182 possible days. Fort Worth-based American claims Atlanta-based Delta should give up the route for not using it enough; Delta says it's fully compliant with DOT rules for frequency of service to Haneda.
