The suspension of Amtrak train service between Philadelphia and New York City after this week's deadly crash has given a jolt to airfares connecting cities in the Northeast corridor. For example, round-trip tickets from New York to Washington, D.C., listed on Expedia cost between $699 and $1,105 on Thursday , with few tickets available, CNN reported.
