(Telecompaper) Google announced the launch of its Android Pay mobile payments service in Australia. It's available everywhere contactless payments are accepted, including shops such as Coles, Domino's and 7-Eleven. Users need to download the Android Pay app to their phone and link a payment card to the account. The service works initially with Visa and America Express cards and MasterCard will be added soon. This includes cards issued by over 25 local banks, such as ANZ Bank, Macquarie, MyState and Teachers Mutual Bank. Merchants can start accepting Android Pay as long as they have a contactless terminal. Google said it will also launch in the coming days in-app payment with Android Pay, for services such as Kogan.com, EatNow and Deliveroo.
