Annaly paying $1.5 billion for Hatteras

Annaly Capital Management Inc. will buy Hatteras Financial Corp. for about $1.5 billion in a move that will expand the real estate investment trust's portfolio. The cash-and-stock deal values Hatteras at $15.85 per share, marking a 10.6 percent premium from the company's closing price of $14.33 on Friday.
