The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued final guidance this week on two proposals aimed at limiting the use of antibiotics in food animals in an attempt to address growing concerns about antimicrobial resistance in humans. FDA says it does, and that the use of antibiotics in animal production needs to be limited to only therapeutic uses and not for growth promotion.
