Twenty-seven years ago, Dame Suzie Moncrieff hosted the first World of Wearable Art show, initially to promote a Nelson gallery - to a small crowd and on a tight budget. Today, the show is a highlight of New Zealand's arts scene and regularly has more than 50,000 guests each season in Wellington where it is now held.
