NY Mag: Lake Mead, Americas largest reservoir, reached a record low water level this week, breaking the previous record set a year ago. As of Friday night, the depth of the lake, which was formed after the Depression-era Hoover Dam was built on the Colorado River at the Nevada-Arizona border, had dropped to 1,074.33 feet, and the Desert Sun reports that officials expect the level to hit 1,071 feet by the end of June.
