UPS plans to hire up to 95,000 temporary workers to handle the holiday rush, but that reflects a structural shift in American shopping habits - not so much a bet on a blockbuster season. Although the U.S. calendar still needs to flip through Halloween and Thanksgiving , retailers and businesses are gearing up for the important holiday shopping season.
