Japanese brewer Asahi Group is mulling a swoop for beer brands Peroni and Grolsch that may have to be sold as part of the takeover of SABMiller by Anheuser-Busch InBev, according to reports. The Wall Street Journal cited sources that suggested the group, which said in a statement on Tuesday that it was exploring various acquisition possibilities, was putting together a $3bn bid for the beer brands, with other buyers also emerging from Asia.
