Assembly hearing to examine daily fantasy sports in New York

State lawmakers are set to examine the legality and financial and consumer impacts of daily fantasy sports in New York, where the attorney general is trying to shut them down. J. Gary Pretlow, chairman of the Assembly Committee on Racing and Wagering, and Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz and Kenneth Zebrowski say they want to hear testimony Tuesday about whether the online games constitute gambling under New York law.
